Key resettable Manual Call Point

One of the requirements of Australian Standard AS1851 is that building owners maintain a quantity of spare glasses for their manual call points.

Manual call points (MCP's) also know as break glass alarms (BGA's) and pull stations are not used as regularly as they have been in the past however they can still be found in many buildings.

Most manual call points incorporate a frangible glass element (ie a glass that can be broken) that when operated releases a switch that initiates an alarm.

Frangible glasses are slowly being replaced with non-frangible manual call points that incorporate a visual indicator to indicate they have been operated.

The image on this page illustrates one brand of non-frangible MCP that incorporates a fluorescent yellow strip that appears when operated.
