Hi guys, I thought I would share with you some changes and quick thoughts on how our internet marketing strategy is doing...

Since Maintenance Essentials started almost 7 years ago, I have had a clear internet strategy to disseminate information, answer frequently asked questions and publish news of interest about our industry.

Over the last few years our web site has grown from almost no hits to become the most popular destination on Google for key phrases used by our customers, peers and competitors.

In addition, this strategy has had some highly beneficial spin off effects such as being on of our best methods to attract new employees.

In early March 2008 I created a HUGE problem for myself when I decided to a minor upgrade of the theme template that drives the look & feel of testedgroup.com.

After I had applied the upgrade patch (which I thought was fairly simple) I found out that it had broken the entire web site. Over the next week I worked for about 60 hours slowly rebuilding every aspect of the site from the news feeds to how the front page is rendered and displayed!

Some of the new features of the web site now include;

  • Changing Flash based banner on the front page
  • RSS feeds from every page and 'tag' including blog entries and news
  • Dynamically updated front page
  • News feed on the front page
  • WYSIWYG style text editor

Of course these things will change again as we implement new features and ideas. The bottom line, is that we are meeting our strategic needs and leading our industry worldwide..
