ABCB Webcast on Proposed Energy Efficiency Provisions for BCA 2010

The Australian Building Codes Board (ABCB) are seeking advice in regard to proposed changes to the 2010 edition of the Building Code of Australia (BCA).

Interestingly the ABCB are publishing the public information via a webcast (streaming video/audio).

This is an exciting development (video streaming) because it introduces new technology that improves communication...

The only problem is that the video requires the installation of a special "applet" which is no available for my web browser or is available as part of our security policy.

The message however is worth viewing if your interested or affected by the Proposed Energy Efficiency Provisions for BCA 2010... Now is your chance to have a say in the changes.

Webcast - Consultation RIS on Proposed Energy Efficiency Provisions for BCA 2010

To assist the consultation process, the ABCB Office, in conjunction with the Department of Environment, Water, Heritage and the Arts (DEWHA) has prepared an information webcast featuring the Consultation Regulation Impact Statements (RIS) on the proposed Energy Efficiency Provisions for BCA 2010.

The webcast has been split into two self contained sessions. One will focus on commercial buildings (Volume One of the BCA), while the other will focus on residential buildings (Volume Two of the BCA).

Both sessions include a welcome by the ABCB, an explanation of the policy context by DEWHA, and an outline of the Consultation RIS methodology and findings by the RIS authors, The Centre for International Economics (The CIE). Each session concludes with a brief Question and Answer segment where a panel of ABCB and DEWHA staff with The CIE consultants respond to questions.
